Guest speaker, Alvin Day, conducted his workshop "The Gentle Power of Yes" for members of five local chambers of commerce at the first Costco Joint Chamber Breakfast meeting on August 10. Participants from the Lake Worth, Lantana, Boynton Beach, Hispanic and West Palm Beach chambers came to hear Day's selling strategies.
"I want to shake up people's perceptions a little. Teach them something new about selling in the Information Age," Day said when asked of his objectives for the meeting. Beginning his workshop with the question "How often do the professionals in this room hear the word no?" was an effective way to get the attention of a roomful of small business and sales professionals.
